Here have a goddess.
IN OTHER NEWS: I have plans to eventually acquire Clip Studio Paint, which will not only make creating my actual webcomic easier, it will probably just make art a lot more fun in general. I have the free trial right now, and it is all sorts of awesome. I just need to get $50 or so in my pay pal to actually get it, so I’m sitting on my hands until my tax returns get in.
Also, starting this April, I shall be attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for Video Game Art and Design.
What all that means for my availability? That I do not know for now. But I figured I should probably announce that
Today have an exercise in contrasts. ’ 7’
To make a long story short these are a couple custom Personas I’ve been finishing up over the past half of a year, in order to help out this guy here. Who they’re supposed to be is given in the captions, but I’ll leave it to him to explain any further context! ‘7’
I have too much fun with pattern work.
I present this to you with no conxtet
Today’s warmup; part 1 of the hexafusion meme! (I am legit excited this only took about 45 minutes from sketch to lineart, which is impressive for me to do pure digitally).
I probably won’t put the rest of it up until it’s completely done, I just figured you guys would be amused by the first step.
heya, so, any update again?
I was out sick with a viral infection for a week after Christmas (To the point where I had to go to the emergency room and get tested for Meningitis) and have been job-hunting so I can pay bills and such since then. Commissions have been started just recently due to it, and I tend to work on them from 4-6 hours a day to avoid headaches.
Also avoiding carpel tunnel, which would mean I wouldn’t get any artwork done until it was taken care of.
Having an adult life sucks.
*insert generic “LEVEL UP” music here*
Beep Boop time for the owl to get to sleep.
Have a Hydreigon ready to flambe your arse as a parting gift for the night.
for when it becomes daylight/warmer …
IT IS BACK TO THE ART BOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD
I regret absolutely nothing.
Something real quick to warm up for some late-night commission work after filling out job applications and being out shopping all day. the mental image of someone like Shinjiro with a Sliggoo and being all nonchalant about it getting slime over him because it wants to sit on his shoulder will never not make me giggle.
Dunno who’s pointing out the slime to him tho.
Also here have a flat color sample.
Let’s start 2014 off with some Horse Fakemons!
I was talking with a friend on skype when I made the comment about wanting an ice horse based off of a Shire/draft horse. and then I went “… wait why the fuck don’t I just make one?!”
So here we have the ice counterpart to the Ponyta/Blitzle lines! Equesno and Sleighnir. The inspiration was shire horses, sleighs/ice skates, winter, Slepnir and the Northern Lights for the shiny colorations.
Equesno’s about three foot tall, quite common, and a bulky little horse that would have high HP, ATK, DEF, average SP. AT/SP. DEF, and low SPD. Pure ice type, with the Ability Refrigerate/Snow Warning. The name comes from “Equestrian” and “Snow”, but can also be a corruption of “Equis” combined with “NOrse”.
Sleighnir, being based off of the Shire horse, is about six foot one. The already high HP/ATK/DEF stats would get even higher, and the speed stat would actually improve now that the horse has the stability of a full set of sleigh grooves instead of just tiny ice skates Equesno has. In exchange, the Special stats would worsen. The Abilities would still be Refrigerate/Snow Warning. Sleighnir is a much more straightforward combination of ‘sleigh’ and “Slepnir”, the eight-legged horse from Norse mythology.
The shiny coloration for both forms comes from the Aurora Borealis. The Green/Yellow/Gold combination is the most commonly found, so Equesno’s an aqua green whereas Sleighnir’s gold and yellow.
You can use the fakemons if you wish, just please credit me. c:
heya, happy holidays! how did it go? hows art?
Pretty good, and still pretty good. I would have worked on it more but November and December were stressful months for me due to classes, a car accident, my nephew and one of my cousins being in the hospital. And then of course the holidays with me working Retail.
Things have calmed down now, so I’ll put more of my energy towards the artwork. I’m resisting the urge to redraw what I’ve done so it’s on par with this rather than the somewhat cruddy art from earlier in the year. ‘7’;
Here, have the completed version of the WIP from before.
